Creation of Ibadan State endears Oyo people to Jonathan

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State appears to have got the joker to win the state for its presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, as the people of the state now pivot towards Jonathan with a raised hope that the much sought after Ibadan State would be delivered to them as soon as Jonathan returns for second time.

This is happening just as the chances of the party’s presidential flag bearer have just been buoyed, at least in Oyo State, by the Friday’s public declaration of Accord Party to vote for Jonathan, Labour and Social Democratic Party (SDP) had earlier expressed their intention to vote for the PDP candidate.

Using the creation of Ibadan State as their Unique Selling Point (USP), campaigners for Jonathan have at rallies, meetings and consultations been staying on the proposed creation of Ibadan State already approved by the National Congress put in place by Jonathan’s administration.

The Jonathan’s campaign coordinator for Oyo State, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, has never left anybody in doubt as to her personal excitement on the proposed state.
