Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare stormed to the women’s 100m gold in a Commonwealth Games record of 10.85 seconds.
Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown took silver and compatriot Kerron Stewart bronze.
England’s Asha Philip ran a personal best of 11.18 to finish fourth, with team-mate Bianca Williams sixth in 11.31.
“I’m so proud of myself, so happy to run a PB at a major event – it gives me a lot of confidence,” said Philip.
