Ekiti FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS: Victory for Democracy, Another Promise Kept by The Jonathan Administration

Transformation Watch congratulates Nigerians and indeed Africans for the successful, free, fair and credible elections in the South West state of Ekiti, yesterday 21 June, 2014.

Ayodele Peter Fayose overwhelmed incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the APC in all 16 local government areas of the state. 16/16

This victory is not about APC or PDP, LP or APGA. It is actually victory for the tenacity of purpose and never-say-die spirit of the Nigerian people who shrugged off intimidations, threats of unprintable evil and arm-twisting; to vote their conscience, protected by our security agents who predictably quarantined several electoral criminals to smoothen the electoral process, and make the Ekiti Elections free, fair and credible as attested to, by sworn naysayers and habitual never-do-wells in our beloved country Nigeria.

NOTABLE ANECDOTES:

Oshiomhole On President Goodluck Jonathan (2012):
”He said, “For me, what the Edo election has confirmed is that when the President and Commander-in-Chief puts the country first and foremost conducts himself as a statesman and not just a party leader, credible elections are possible.

“People were apprehensive that the Nigerian Army could be misused. But of course I told them I didn’t think they were right because the President gave a clear directive that the votes must count. He warned that there would be no rigging, no manipulation, no ballot snatching and orders were given to the army to ensure none of those things happened and the Army carried out the order.” http://www.punchng.com/news/i-would-have-won-with-a-wider-margin-oshiomhole/

Goodluck Jonathan (Today):
My dear friends on Facebook, the Ekiti gubernatorial election result has now been released by INEC and the loud and unequivocal voice of the Ekiti people has chorused the great song of Free, Fair and Credible Election. The song from Ekiti reaffirms our determination to permanently enthrone the doctrine of: ‘One man one vote, one woman one vote, one youth one vote’ that we have continued to champion in other to strengthen our democracy. I salute the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its thoroughness in ensuring that the elections were well conducted without hiccups. I congratulate the people of Ekiti state for conducting themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner and above all remaining firm in defence of the power of the ballot. I congratulate the PDP candidate, Chief Ayo Fayose, on his victory and urge him to work with his fellow contestants to fast-track the development of Ekiti state. Finally, I thank all Nigerians for keeping the faith in our democracy. May God bless Nigeria. GEJ

Akin Josephs Adepoju:

ALTHOUGH, I WAS NOT THERE BUT CREDIBLE INFORMATION SHOWED THAT THE ELECTION IN EKITI STATE WAS LIKE JUNE 12, VERY FREE AND FAIR. HOWEVER, WE SHALL NEVER HEAR OF ANY ANNULMENT. WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE. TO THE WINNER, REMEMBER THE SUPPORTS THE LEAST PERSON GAVE TO YOU AND GIVE THEM WORTHY DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY AND NOT (OMI GAARI) INSTEAD OF GAARI AND GROUNDNUT OR (IKETE) INSTEAD OF REFINED PALM OIL. TO THE LOSER, DO NOT WASTE YOUR RESOURCES TO GO TO ANY COURT BECAUSE LIKE SERIOUSLY, THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN ONCE AGAIN.

Hon Kayode Amusan:

IT IS NOW OFFICIAL:
INEC Declares My FRIEND, COLLEAGUE, PARTNER (MR) PETER AYODELE FAYOSE aka ‘OSHOKOMOLE’,As The WINNER Of The Just Concluded EKITI-STATE GUBER Elections.
While I Congratulate Him For His Emphatic Victory, I’ll Also Like To Use This Avenue To Congratulate The Good People Of EKITI state, who voted en-mass for the MAN who IDENTIFY With The Masses/Grassroots. Our Great Leaders in PDP and NIGERIANS as a whole. This is what DEMOCRACY is all about, “THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE”.

The reality on ground has proved that FAYOSE is the best candidate to lead Ekiti for the next four years. The people are always ready to identify with any leader that is always available to identify with them. In the game of democracy, the people give their votes to the leaders who identify with them.
One fact remains that the so called APC governors are too distant to the people. instead for them to concentrate on the masses and provide for them the DIVIDENDS of DEMOCRACY they focus on their leaders bank account and their own selfish AGENDA. DEMOCRACY is about the people.
And toThe OWNER Of LAGOS state, Who Hails From IREPODUN IN OSUN-STATE, who Insinuated ROASTINGS. However, After The Election, In Place Of ROASTINGS, it Was CELEBRATIONS In ADO-EKITI,The EKITI-STATE Capital.

Kayode Ogundamisi (APC Crooner):
